WIP Wednesday (on a Thursday) 7-25-13

Today's WIP is a super cute pair of crochet fingerless mitts from Twinkie Chan's book Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies. I love this book and I plan to crochet just about everything in it!

 I will not be making one strawberry pink as the pattern suggests. I am also not sure I will be keeping these! I might try to make enough things to have a cute little booth at my churches holiday bazaar (if they have one this year)! I haven't decided yet to do it for sure... But I am heavily considering it. 

Anyways, without further ado:

Cute right?

So I am sure you noticed I posted WIP Wednesday late Thursday and there is two reasons for that. Reason one is that my kids had VBS this week. Reason two is that they have balloons up at VBS  and they gave out cute little VBS bracelets. Both are latex. Which I am anaphylactically allergic to. Someone brushed up against me with one of them and I went into anaphylaxis right there in the church parking lot. So I was a bit out of it for the rest of the day and forgot to post this on Wednesday. I think that is a pretty good reason. Hopefully I will have a FO to show you tomorrow!

Manicure Monday: 7-22-13

Today was a crazy busy day, so I didn't get to paint my nails till evening. I spent most of the day I was at the "celebration of life" for Maggie Morton. The Morton's are a very special family to me. When they found out I needed somewhere to live until a group home opened up when I was 17, they took me in and made me feel like I was really part if their family. I honestly think they would have kept me till I finished high school, but they had a family emergency and weren't able to meet the states requirements any more. Because of them I didn't have to miss the first several months of my senior year. 

Anyways. After Maggie's funeral I had a massive migraine so Owen took the kids to VBS and I stayed home and bonded with Carole. We worked together to get Oliver to sleep (that boy LOVES his Gran SO MUCH! Then we watched a movie called On, Voyager. It stars Betty Davis. While we watched the movie we both painted our nails! She wouldn't let me take a picture of hers, but here are mine.

 

I painted my toes with the same color and have since gotten the extra polish off my skin. 

This is a mini polish and came in a big minis set my parents gave me for Christmas last year. This is the red from the set. It has a shimmer to it and honestly kinda reminds me of Christmas. It doesn't have a color name. I have to admit that I originally thought the polishes from this set were a bit cheap, but (other than the light green color) I have been pleasantly surprised by how long they last without chipping!

F.O. Friday: 7/19/2013

I have decided for now that Fridays shall be Finished Object Fridays! 

Today I have a project I am calling finished because I am not sure the buttons I have are "right".

Sorry for the iffy cell phone picture! It is late at night, but I wanted to get a post up tonight! Plus my laptop is down again and I can't afford to back up the data right now, so I only have my iPhone to work with since Owen is not always the best at sharing his laptop. 

Anywho...

I still need to add this project to Ravelry, but at least it is done!

Another Year

I wanted to be a better blogger. I really did. But life got in the way and the next thing I know almost a year has gone by. 

I need to blog though. I have less depression when I blog. So I think I need a format. I can do Manicure Mondays, WIP Wednesdays, and what else? I feel like I should blog at least three times a week to get me back in the habit!
